Our girls represented our school in the Shropshire Plate football competition on Wednesday 28th November at TCAT. The girls won one game, drew two and lost one. The team performed brilliantly on the night and were unlucky not to progress to the next round despite a tense final game which ended in a 1-1 draw against a strong John Fletcher team.
Unfortunately, our defence of the Telford & Wrekin Boys’ Cup is over following a 6-2 defeat away to John Fletcher Primary School. The home side deserved their win as our goalkeeper Lucas Miller pulled off several excellent saves during the match!
Well done you our U-11 boys who have played lots of football this term and they have all been a credit to St Georges!
Best wishes to John Fletcher in the next round.
On Friday 23rd November, our U11 Boys play in Round Two of the Telford and Wrekin Cup away to John Fletcher Primary School.
On Wednesday 28th November, our U11 Girls play in the Shropshire Plate Competition at TCAT.
Mr Blair took three teams to the Telford and Wrekin Boccia competition at the Telford Tennis Centre in Oakengates.
Impressively, one of our three teams won their group and will represent our school at the Boccia finals at a later date.
A huge well done to our U11 Girls football team who completed their three fixtures in the Grange Park Primary School cluster league. The girls won 9-3 away to Newport Primary School and 6-0 away to Donnington Wood Juniors. Mrs Tidman-Poole was thrilled with the girls’ two performances!

After a very large turn-out for our Years 4 & 5 football trial last week, Mr Porteous and Mr Richards had the challenging task of picking a squad of nine boys out of around 30 participants to take to the U10 Shropshire Plate Competition at TCAT on Wednesday 14th November.
The boys played in three games on a very chilly evening and their results can be seen below. Unfortunately, the team did not gain enough points to progress to the next round of the competition. Nevertheless, the boys had a brilliant time and did a fantastic job representing our school.
Our Year 5.6 girls football team have two fixtures lined up for next week.
On Tuesday 13th November the team travel to Newport Junior School.
On Thursday 15th November the team travel to Donnington Wood Juniors.
Well done to all the children above from Years 5 and 6 who competed in the Indoor Athletics competition on Tuesday at the Telford Tennis Centre.
Mrs Sweeney said that all of the children were amazing role models for our school.
A massive well done to our Netball team led by Mrs Sweeney.
The girls played four games.
Winning 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, only losing one game 4-1.
The girls finished 2nd in their group.
Fantastic team work all round!
On Wednesday 24th October, at lunchtime, there will be an intra-school football competition for any boys who would like to participate from Years 3 or 4. The event will be held at lunch-time on the school field and any boys who would like to participate must wear shin-pads and eat their dinner first before coming out onto the field to play.
